Rave reviews for the iPhone 3GS

As you’ve surely heard, the new iPhone 3GS came out last week.  Over 1 million of this latest and greatest model of Apple’s iPhone were sold already just over the past weekend.  Without getting too far ahead of ourselves, let’s just say we had a strong professional interest in trying out the new phone.

For clinical care, it’s twice as fast as the previous model.  The GPS and new Compass app are eerily accurate, so visiting nurses out in the field will never get lost.  The Voice Memos app is also a great way to get some thoughts down quickly.

Most importantly, the features of the new camera on the 3GS make it absolutely fantastic for clinical use.  The camera allows you bring the problematic area on the patient into focus with a simple tap of your finger.  You can also record and edit video.

We’ve been dreaming of a device like this for the past 15 years, and it’s finally here!

Combined with ClickCare’s HIPAA security, we’re designing it to be taking care of the personal health information every step of the way.  This is a much bigger project than encrypting email with attachments, which doesn’t meet all the tenets of HIPAA compliance.

We’re very excited about bringing ClickCare to the iPhone in the coming months.  Please let us know if you’d like to receive updates about this project.
